"Obstruction" This game has the most arbitrary flagging system i've ever seen for why something cant be placed. In a completed leveled out field with no other objects surrounding it, paths and buildings will give this "obstruction" flag with no explanation as to why something cant be placed. Best way I've found is to build a door frame and place your barrier gate inside the opening, lining it up as close as possible with the frame, and then place your barrier walls off of that using angle snap. Walls start perfectly aligned to the outside grid.

The TOO DEEP and TOO SHALLOW and not enough or too much is important. The depth is just enough for them to go under water with a little bit over their heads. Any deeper than that the water amount for their habitat shows not enough or they won't traverse the whole place. Hope that helps.
