What Happens At The End Of Behind Her Eyes Season One?

Viewers will remember that the ending ofBehind Her Eyes sawa shock twist with the death of Adele.

Following her death, David married Louise who, wait for it, is actually Rob who has taken over Louise’s body, all thanks to the power of astral projection.

Turns out that Rob and Adele met prior to the show’s first episode, when Adele was a teenager, and the pair grew close. Teaching Rob astral projection, the two switch bodies to experience the power of their magic. Unfortunately, Rob uses that moment to kill Adele’s soul and takes over her life with her husband, David.

After Adele/Rob discovers David’s affair with Louise—cue episode one—Adele/Rob lure’s Louise into a trap where they kill her, swap bodies and Rob takes over Louise’s new life as David’s wife.

What Would Be The Plot Of Behind Her Eyes Season Two?

Currently, there has been no confirmation of a second season, however, the series was based on a best-selling novel which means that there is room to extend the story. Plus, Pinborough’s book did dive into Louise/Rob plotting to harm Adam, so if Netflix does move forward, that is an option they could take.

Fans have theorised that by the look of Adam and Louise’s relationship—as the main emotional storyline of the season—it could work as an utterly heart-wrenching and tragic plot line to explore, the possibilities are there.

Internet sleuths have also spotted breadcrumbs that were laid throughout the first season about Louise’s relationship with her ex-husband. Many have also theorised a future plot line surrounding her ex figuring out the Louise/Rob situation and becoming intertwined in an effort to avenge his ex-wife.

In an ideal world, the second season would flesh out David’s character more, potentially exploring his backstory and motivations or diving into his prosecution for Rob’s body in the well.

Which Cast Members Will Return For Behind Her Eyes Season Two?

At the moment, the cast for a future season is yet to be confirmed or denied, but it’s safe to assume that Eve Hewson, who plays Adele, will not return for season two considering how things panned out.

In the meantime, we’ll have to wait, see and make sure to never practice astral projection.
